| some mean people once. She didn't know Jian-wa very well, but he had to be okay because the twins liked him. Besides she didn't mind new acquaintances. "Michiru-san, Neko-san lied," she sulked. Mi-chan raised her eyebrows at the young girl. "Honto? Neko-chan rarely lies, Puroko-chan. What did she say?" "She told me she was going to dance with Tenshi, but they still aren't dancing." Puroko could have a real one-track mind when she wanted. Mi-chan glanced at the couple. "Neko-chan and Tenshi-kun are doing a 'Neko and Tenshi' thing right now. I'm sure eventually they'll dance." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hoshi figured it was probably safe for her to converse with Mi-chan. She wasn't likely to feel too awkward or risk blowing up at her or anything. But as she approached them, she saw Puroko was there. *Great, Tenshi-san's sister. That's all I need.* Still she decided it would be worth it not to be at this party alone anymore. "I'm sure eventually they'll dance." "What are we talking about?" Hoshi asked curiously. "Neko-san," Puroko replied grumpily. "She lied." "She doesn't lie," both Hoshi and Mi-chan insisted. "Ne, Michiru-san. You got that EPS with her. Could you remind her?" she asked impatiently. "ESP? I don't think that's such a good idea right now." She concentrated. "Oops. Um, no." Everyone looked at her. Sheepishly, as she hadn't meant to eavesdrop, she explained, "Tenshi-kun just got her to talk about Kaido-san. I really shouldn't interrupt." Hoshi scanned the room. She finally found Neko, standing in a tight embrace with Tenshi. *Oh, please!* But she had to admit, Neko looked peaceful. And if she had just been talking about what happened with Kaido, which she never talked about, that was nothing short of a miracle. "But I want them to dance!" Puroko had obviously had too much sugar. Hoshi stared at the ground. "I- I know how to get them to dance," she admitted quietly. Puroko's eyes turned to her filled with great delight. Hoshi couldn't exactly ignore them. So she told her. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "There, all better," Tenshi told her girlfriend. Though no longer mending her eye, she still held on to her. "You're so sneaky," Neko whispered, not mad at all. "Only when it's for a good cause. I never want you to be hurt, Koneko." "Me neither. Down with being hurt." "I mean it. No matter what the cost, I'd do anything to keep you from being in pain or upset. You understand that, right?" Neko nodded. She knew Tenshi's feelings on keeping her protected. They were similar to Mi-chan's, except more romantic. Neko was about to echo the sentiment when the first few piano notes of the new song Haruka was playing caught her attention. Puroko was over there, and had apparently requested it. "Machi no hi ga kirei dawa Hoshi kuzu chiribameta yo," she whispered in tune as Michiru picked up the vocal part of "Lost Paradise" on the violin. "Shiranai no Yokogao ga sore sae kasumaseteru," Tenshi followed her, continuing with the "guy" part of the song. "Shall we dance?" "Like you have to ask." She let Tenshi twirl her out onto the dance floor. This was her favorite song after all. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "Ne, Hoshi-san? Would you like to dance?" Observing how miserable Hoshi was, Jian-wa had finally taken Mi-chan's suggestion to ask her best friend to dance. "No, that's okay." She tried to look less upset, as she realized his intentions. "Mi-chan's lucky to have a sweet guy like you. You should take her out for a song or two." He nodded. As long as she was okay. He returned to Mi-chan. She was watching Neko and Tenshi out on the dance floor. "She didn't want to dance. Ne, they look great out there." Mi-chan nodded. "This is Neko-chan's favorite song. It's the first one she danced to with Tenshi-kun. Even then they shined on the dance floor together," she remembered. Jian-wa offered her his hand. "Shall we go out there and shine with them?" he asked. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "Tsubasa to," Neko sang as the last verse began and Tenshi twirled her around. "Tsubasa wo" Tenshi echoed, as she swung Neko back to her. "Kasaneta" "Atsuku" "Atusku" They finished the line together. "odottara." "Anata wo" Tenshi meant every word as she continued singing and dancing with Neko. Neko felt the same way. "Watashi wo" "saratte" "saratte" "tsukete" "tsukete itte yo," Neko finished, as Tenshi did with "ikitai." "Eien ni Odoriakaseru Ano rakuen." Tenshi dipped Neko as they finished the last line together. As Haruka played the last part of the song, Tenshi brought Neko back to her and the two continued to dance to the slow ending. Haruka and Michiru went immediately into a slow classical piece, and Neko and Tenshi saw no reason to stop dancing. |
