Oh, yeah, if you have a problem with same-sex relationships (or the GLBT community in general), don't read the story. You won't be happy, I won't be happy, and who needs all that. Also just so you're warned, don't watch the show unless it's dubbed either.

I do not live in Japan, and despite the fact that I wrote a paper on homosexuality in anime and Japan, I am by no means an expert. In the first four stories I basically took homosexuality as it is viewed by Americans (and assumed we were living in the future where two of our admired rulers are lesbians and most people seem okay with that). I knew nothing about S relationships or things like that, though obviously I picked up on some things by watching anime shows like SM. Now I'm aware of more Japanese GLBT culture, so I'm trying to balance future stories between what I understand of Japanese views on homosexuality and what I've already written. Really, this just applies to the homophobia that comes up in this story. At the same time, I've never written a homophobic person, and I don't know that I can write from that POV well, as I've never had it described to me what a homophobic person thinks about acquaintances that find out they are homosexual. And again, Japanese culture is different and it's the future�. So bear with me please.
