We have watched the babies the year before last year getting
adopted out while we lived in NC. We had bought some property in the
Cumberland foothills of TN and moved here in June of 2002 and started
building our home. This spring we made a trip to Casey Creek and fell in
love with Mystic a little bay filly who was born on Feb. 8, 2003, It was I
believe on the 18th of Feb. when we adopted Mystic and at the time she was
going through the "scours" so it was around the 28th when we were able to
bring her home , Mystic was to be my baby!!She is half Q/H and Half
T/B...Long Legged little girl. The next month in March Jeannie knew Cathy my
wife was interested in finding a colt with some color so they called as soon
as Ken came home with Paco and we drove up to casey creek and adopted Paco,
He was born March 10, 2003 and we brought him home on the 17th , he was
only a week old and so we went through the scours with him and with alot of
attention he maintained his weight. He is Q/H. He is a quite the little
lover!! Mystic is still the boss of the 2 of them and mainly Dad's
horse..she seems to love my attention. They now are weaned from the milk
replacer and have had all their vaccinations and wormed twice now. The Vet
that came out says they look great and He will fix Mystic's hernia in the
fall. They both have been getting used to the water hose and getting their
baths regularly and their hoofs cleaned , It is a blessing working with
these babies at this age they are so easy to train. It is cute to go out in
the field and whistle for them and have them come for some attention. They
had been led around ,sometimes every day ,together they are quite the pair!
We sure have been blessed! I believe Mystic is going to be a very fast horse
and Paco has a very pretty gate to him he looks so handsome when he is
pracing around with his tail held straight up in the air. Hope this little
letter will help. I guess I could write a book about them. hahaha!!
Thanks,
