Synopsis:
Adrian, a school teacher, is actually a murderer who kills young male prostitutes. Of course he's mentally unbalanced, but he has his reasons. When one day he is caught killing a boy prostitute by another boy prostitute, Lawrence, his secret is revealed. But Lawrence, as the semi-cynical boy he is, doesn't tell on him, but gets close to Adrian instead. This is a very nice one-shot, so I shall not spoil it further.
Review:
You've got to read it. No matter if you're a yaoi fan or not. No matter if you are a guy. No matter if you're half blind. I don't care. There is no excuse to miss out on this superb story.
Boys Next Door is done is classical Yuki Kaori-sensei style - angst-ridden, beautiful 'sunken' graphics, extremely detailed drawings, beautiful boys who look like girls, dark and dreary situations of reality.
This plot is very short, and very sad. But it's also quite deep, and mature. But this is what is to be expected of Yuki Kaori-sensei, mangaka of the Angel Sanctuary series, Count Cain, and Kaine. If you haven't tried any of her works, Boys Next Door is a good place to start.
