Guider Information

Guiders serve as adult leaders for all the Guiding sections. They are women aged 18-65. Guiders make a promise and keep the Guide Law. We wear a uniform too.

Trefoil Guild Members are women who have once been members of the Association. They wear a red badge tab and have a Red promise badge after making their promise.

Unit helpers are adults that come along to unit meetings to help the Guider as part of her team. They do not make a promise. Unit helpers can be male.

The Promise:

I promise that I will do my best;
To love my God,
To serve the Queen and my country,
To help other people,
and to keep the Guide Law.

Rangers and Young Leaders make a further commitment: To be of Service in the Community.

The Guide Law

1. A Guide is honest, reliable and can be trusted.
2. A Guide is helpful and uses her time and abilities wisely.
3. A Guide faces challenge and learns from her experiences.
4. A Guide is a good friend and sister to all other Guides.
5. A Guide is polite and considerate.
6. A Guide respects all living things and takes care of the world around her.

Uniform

What we wear depends on what section we are and which optiond we chose. Broadly Guiders wear navy and unit helpers wear their own clothes (not uniform). Trefoil Guild Members tend to wear navy too, although it is not compulsory.

Pin Badges are displayed on the badge tab. This is Navy for Guiders, with the colour of stripe indicating which Section the Guider works with, red for Trefoil Guild and (as an option) Yellow for unit helpers.
