Hugh McDonald (or Huey) was born in Philadelphia. He married his wife Nancy in September 1996. They don’t have any children. He substituted Alec Jon Such (former Bon Jovi bassist) after he left
the band. Hugh had already played with Tico and it was him who suggested Hugh for the bass position. Before touring with Bon Jovi, Hugh had been mainly a studio
musician, working with a lot of artists, including Cher, Alice Cooper and Michael Bolton. Hugh participated in the recording of Bon Jovi's first success
"Runaway", back in 1984. Hugh has been touring with Jon Bon Jovi in the promotion of Jon's new solo album ”Destination Anywhere”.
