A quiet & comfortable journey

The ergonomically designed train compartments will enable all passengers to enjoy a comfortable, quiet and pleasant journey. The high-capacity train cars will accommodate a maximum of 335 persons per car. To enhance passengers' comfort, the interior of each train compartment is fully utilised. For example, the gangway will be adequately air-conditioned and illuminated for the comfort of standing passengers.

The new train has a more streamlined exterior as compared to the existing train. To reduce the train noise, body side skirts are fitted along the bottom of train and noise absorbent material are used on the bottom face of the car floor.

Train Car Windows are designed to suit the passengers who are standing so they may see through the windows with level sightlines.

In the train compartment, ambient temperature and humidity will be set at appropriate levels, and a quiet environment will be created by the attenuation of noise generated by the train operation.

Innovative train information system

To enable drivers to manage incidents more efficiently and effectively two CCTV monitoring units are available in each train car.

Six 38-cm colour LCD offers a better visual effect and creates greater potential for passenger information and real-time news and financial information.

Facilities for the needy

Clearly visible grab pole colour and signage straphangers are increased by 60% to enable passengers to spread around more evenly in trains.

Wheelchair space is provided in every 4 cars. Also, LCD Passenger Information Display as well as Public Announcement facility for passengers who have hearing difficulties.

Totally Environmentally Friendly

Traction motors will be turned into generators, feeding energy back to the power supply system, this Regenerative Braking system saves 25% of energy consumption.

Body side skirts are fitted along the bottom of both sides, covering the length of the car including the wheel assemblies, helps reduce the noise of operating trains.
