Aes Sedai Lecture

There are some bits of knowledge that women simply are not entrusted with until they attain the shawl.

Ignoring Heat and Cold:

Aes Sedai are rarely seen to sweat. It takes great stress to disturb their concentration enough to cause them to lose control to that point. They also do not seem to be touched by the cold. It is not a thing of the power, simply a trick of the mind. Exactly how this is done is never explained, but that matters little. One doesn't need to know how to do it, just how to emote it.

Jane turns her cool gaze on the man who is sweating and nervously shifting his weight from one foot to the other. She arches an eyebrow at him, her own face dry, the heat seemingly not affecting her. Imperiously, she asks,"Is there any particular reason you are nervous?"

The Kin:

Many of the girls who come to the Tower aren't suitable for raising to the shawl and are sent away with a warning never to channel again. There are also girls who aren't accepted for training because they are considered too old, and there are girls who run away. Whilst tracking down runaways, Aes Sedai discovered a secret group of women known only as the Kin, who took in such girls. They have their base in Ebou Dar and focus their talents on Healing. They believe firmly that their secret is still intact and Aes Sedai are ignorant of their presence, but infact the Kin are simply ignored. It is considered better to have the women grouped together and guided than alone in the world. That is really the extent of what the Aes Sedai know of the Kin. Most of the information on them in the books is stuff that most Aes Sedai simply would not believe. (We can be damn arrogant sometimes.)

Being Turned:

The ability to channel is a great tool to be used against the Shadow in service to the Light. It is also a weakness. This is not normally told to Aes Sedai until after they are raised to the Shawl, but it is possible for thirteen dreadlords channeling through thirteen myrrdraal to turn a channeler to the Shadow against his or her will.

If anyone notices anything blatant that should be known by Aes Sedai but that is not represented anywhere in the syllabus, she should inform the GLs of that. She will be rewarded with quest points.
