Kassandra moves into the oval from the west, steps taken with great care as she moves among the crowds, heading towards the fountain area, the sun glittering off her black hair as it sways with her movements.
At the soft jingle of silver bells, Kaith turns his dark gaze in the direction of the sound. His mouth remains set in a flat line as his gaze settles upon Kassandra. His eyes sweep briefly up and down her frame, then he glances away to continue his sweep of the plaza. A slight twitching of his booted foot is the only visible reaction to the sight.
Tall and sticking out among the crowds, Jandor strolls through the oval at a seemingly casual pace. His black viel hangs down loosely around his, always within easy reach. Cool, grey eyes scan his surroundings, partially in wonderment and partially in caution.
Kassandra stops near the fountain her hand lifting to push back her hair, bells tinkling more than when she moves, dark eyes moving among the benches looking for a place to sit, pausing briefly on the aiel as he moves into the plaza then to the asha'man. With a soft sight she makes her way to a clear space not far from Kaith and slips the leather bag from her shoulder and pulls out an embroidery hoop filled with sheer blue cloth, the design one of red roses and green leaves, a small pouch is pulled out next and placed beside her, needle and thread taken out the needle threaded with deft fingers.
Jandor moves along quietly using his spear as a walking staff. He really doesn't have to watch where he is going, as most people tend to give him a rather wide berth. Whether it effects the man or not, or if he even notices or cares, one can't tell.
The twitching of Kaith's right foot stops as his eyes settle on the Aielman. A tension settles over his body as he gazes coldly at him for a long moment before turning to face the Domani woman. In the precise, musical accent of Cairhien, he addresses her,'Grace favor you, milady.'
Kassandra had just pierced the cloth when Kaith speaks to her, finger pricked and brought to her mouth blood suckled from it, as her dark eyes look up at the man studying him a few seconds, finger taken from mouth and soft smile givine, "Lights blessings." she says her voice soft as the morning sun, her accent speaking of Arad Doman. Tension between the two men missed for now.
Jandor's path of travel takes him towards the fountain, closer to Kassandra then to Kaith. His attention seems on the fountain, though a quick glance is given to Kaith and Kassandra in turn.
Kaith's lips twitch up in a slight smile. He inclines his head towards Kassandra and says in a cordial tone,'I apologize. I did not mean to startle you.' He slips his right foot off his knee and settles his feet together as he turns his body slightly towards her and leans forward. His gaze flicks very briefly to Jandor, then back to Kassandra before he says,'I am Kaith. You are new to the city?'
Kassandra folds her hands around the rim of her hoop, freezing like a frightened rabbit as the man leans forward, doe eyes locked on the man, lower lip briefly worried. "I am Kassandra and yes," she says her voice quiet and subdued, body slowly relaxing eyes darting down to her lap, one hand letting to of her hoop and moving to the ring hanging at her neck as she watches Kaith.
Jandor walks past Kassandra, on the side opposite Kaith. He bends down and takes a drink of the water then stands back admiring the fountain.
Kaith's eyes remain fixed upon Kassandra's face, conspicuously not glancing over her shoulder at the Aielman. He inclines his head towards her again in a sort of semi-bow. His left arm remains crooked around his sword as he moves his right hand to rest upon his right leg. He begins to drum his fingers against his knee as he says in that same pleasant tone,'It is a decent enough city, I suppose. Not as grand as Cairhien, even after the topless towers were burned, but a fine city nonetheless.'
Kassandra continues to fondle the ring through her dress, relaxing further the hoop laid in her lap her other hand resting on top of the work. "I have never seen Cairhien, but I glimpsed tar valon on my travels from Arad Doman, my only living kin is here in Caemlyn and I am staying with her and her husband" she tells Kaith offering a soft smile, her voice light and easily lost to all who are not nearby.
Jandor seems to tense slightly at Kaiths mention of Cairhien. Turning to face the man, his eyes narrow upon the man, a scowl on his face. He looks the man up and down and seeing the coat and the pins his face returns to a cool expression as he sits on the edge of the fountain.
Kaith nods slowly to the young woman and replies,'It is good to have family, I suppose. These troubled times have left many without that comfort. I am glad you do not number among them.' He favors her with a warm smile. As Jandor looks him up and down, Kaith's smile broadens noticeably, although he does not remove his gaze from Kassandra's face.
Kassandra sighs softly but nods, "Thank you" she tells him, glancing behind her as he smiles to the aiel then letting her brown eyes slide over Kaith again, "It is not so troubled here as Arad Doman." she adds her smile holding, hand folding over the other as she realizes she playes with the signet ring, light blush playing on her copper cheeks a strange thing indeed.
Jandor seems a bit surpised at the smile from a wetlander, but smiles back to her and nods his head to her. His eyes look her over, smile growing some then disappearing when the move back over to Kaith.
Kaith's eyes twinkle merrily and his lips twitch into a wide grin as Jandor looks at him. With obvious effort, he schools his face into a more sober expression and refocuses his attention on Kassandra. He stops drumming his fingers on his knee and says in a sympathetic tone,'I have heard little of the situation that far west. Was your journey very difficult?'
Kassandra lowers her gaze finding the hoop and its contents of great interest, "It was mostly without event, but it had its troubles" she says softly then bites the corner of her lower lip, as her head stays lowered a ribbon of black hair falls forward and cascades along the curves of her front. She lifts her hand to brush it back causing the bells on her wrist to ring out and lifts her eyes back to Kaith, "I would not wish any to travel there."
Jandor rises quickly, turning his eyes to Kaith he smiles, but the smile is anything bug friendly. Passing Kassandra he offers her a nod and a friendlier smile then the one given to Kaith. He continues on at a slow casual pace, his spear resting on his right shoulder.
Kaith nods, his expression going grave. His voice drops to a soft murmer as he says,'If the Wheel wills, I will avoid that mess. However, I feel that eventually we will be called upon to bring that troubled region under the Lord Dragon's control as well.' He lets out a soft sigh, and rises to his feet, then, lifting his scabbarded sword with his left hand and belting it around his waist as if by habit. He bows very slightly towards her and says,'It has been a pleasure to meet you, Kassandra. Perhaps we shall meet again. Until then, grace favor you.' He rises back to his full height and turns to go, sending a slight smirk in Jandor's direction as he walks.
Kassandra returns the Aeils smile as he walks bye and nods her head to Kaiths words, sighing softly, "I pray the light bless those that fight there and that they win" she says softly and offers another smile to him. "If the wheel wills it we will meet again, and the blessings of the light be upon you" she tells him as he makes ready to leave, brown eyes watching his movements, her needlework picked up as he turns to leave.
Jandor wanders over to the vernder carts and looks over the goods. He is apparantly oblivious to the glares and stares from those around him.
Kaith strolls towards the eastern exit of the plaza, boots clicking softly on the cobbles. The sunlight glitters off the pins on his high black collar as he moves with a practiced gracefulness.
