Lenderiel removes his sword and walks over the dirt ground to place it far away from the combat zone. He then walks over to a rack and picks up a wooden practices sword. He wields it in both hands and swings it about a little, as if to judge the blades balance and weight. He assumes middle stance by placing his feet in line with his shoulders and bending his knees abit.
Lenderiel closes his eyes for a second as he slips into the void, becoming one with his weapon, body and enemy.
Kaith climbs down into the practice yard, the pins on his collar glinting in the afternoon sun. He gazes coldly over the grounds then makes his way over to the rack of practice swords. He quickly unbuckles his sword belt and loops it over the rack, then pulls a bundle of lathes out and steps back, not bothering to test its balance. He lets it fall to his side and gestures sharply towards Lenderiel,'Come with me, Soldier.' Then he turns and strolls to the middle of the yard, not even looking to see that his order is followed.
Lenderiel reluclantly follows Kaith
Kaith turns to face the Soldier, raising his bundle of lathes up in his right hand and bringing his left around to grasp the hilt as well. He holds his hands about a foot in front of his left hip, the wooden blade angling across his body and out from him such that the point hovers a few feet in front of his right shoulder. His face is an emotionless mask as he says softly in the musical accent of Cairhien,'Come for me. Show me what you know, Soldier.'
Lenderiel assumes middle stance by placing his feet inline with his shoulders and the hilt of the sword in level with his waist, angleling his blade slightly forward. He has a nervous look upon his face, but hides it quite well. Suddenly Lenderiel takes a step backward looses his grip around the hilt with his left hand and spins the sword around 360 degrees vertical in his right as if to gain some speed with the blade. He then takes a step forward and lashes a quite soft swing down from his right shoulder aimed to slice Kaith's ribbcage open down from his left shoulder. The swing is soft for it seems only to be a test attack.
Kaith snaps his wrists in a quick counter-clockwise rotation, bringing his practice blade up and to his left to meet Lenderiel's slash with the sharp clack of wood against wood, deflectling the soft stroke just enough to miss. Using the rebound from the blow, and adding and redirecting with force of his own, Kaith snaps his blade sharply down and to his right, aiming to cut diagonally from the bottom of Lenderiel's right rib cage to his left hip.
Lenderiel takes a step back at the same time as he brings his blade up again from its low position up to in level with his head, parrying Kaiths blade on its way up. But as the defence was a last second thing, Lenderiel is not fully balanced and is not in position for a counter attack
Kaith presses the advantage. He brings his blade up from its position of low and to his right to just in front of his center of gravity. He steps forward with his right foot, then, bending the knee slightly, dust stirring around his boot as he plants it. At the instant he plants his foot, he thrusts hard for the middle of Lenderiel's abdomen.
Lenderiel jumps aside to his right, almost loosing his balance since he was stepping backwards. He pulls his sword down to a middle position from its upper position and deflects Kaith's thrust at the same time as fast as he can as he jumps right.
Kaith stops his advance and steps back, eyeing Lenderiel dispassionately. He raises his practice sword back to a middle guard position, same as before, hilt held in front of his left hip, point well out in front of his shoulder. He places his feet shoulder width apart, the right slightly forward. A faint smile twitches at the corners of his lips, then he twitches the tip of his sword in a beckoning gesture and says,'Come for me, Soldier.'
Lenderiel nods slightly and whispers almost unhearable, "i shall try, Asha'man". He grips his sword hard and quickly rushes his sword in level with his waist and angeled to the left forward taking two quick steps toward kaith and lashes out against Kaith belly. Keeping his arms as close t his body as possible to avoid getting a hard to parrying a counter attack. The slash comes from left to right, attacking Kaith in level with his waist.
Kaith brings his right foot back, pivoting a quarter circle on his left, slashing in a hard downward diagonal to parry Lenderiel's slash away from his body with the loud clack of wood against wood. The dust of the training yard swirls around his feet as he moves, settling onto his black pants, turning them slightly brownish. As soon as he has deflected the incoming attack sufficiently that it will miss him, Kaith twists his wrists sharply clockwise such that the "edge" of the practice sword faces towards Lenderiel and slashes back hard to his own left in a vicious stroke parallel to the ground at waist height attempting to slash across his opponent's waist from the man's right side to his left.
Lenderiel quickly brings his sword up to a middle position by using a counter clockwise motion to bring up his practice sword from the low stance it had been in since Kaith's defense slash had bringed it down. The counter-clockwise motion brings Lenderiels blade up to a middle stance just in time to parry Kaith's attack. Then Lenderiel does a quick movement while the two opponents sword are locked in a parry, he spins his entire body around 360 degrees while stepping slightly forward and to his right lashing out with his sword while spinnig trying to hit Kaith's right side, just above his waist.
Kaith brings his practice sword up vertically with an easy twist of his wrists and meets Lenderiel's slash with the loud retort of wood against wood, taking two small quick steps back as his blade recoils slightly towards him. Then he takes another, larger step back and lowers his practice blade to his right side while holding up his left hand in a halting gesture. Voice showing no strain from the exertion, he says,'Enough for now, Soldier. In the future be wary of turning your back on an opponent that way. Some men might have trouble resisting that kind of target.'
Lenderiel says while trying to catch his breath, "Some might not have had enough time to do so in the position you were in, but yes, it was foolish, im sorry asha'man" He spits on the ground.
