1998 has been a year full of changes. I must admit I really feel very uncomfortable when I first entered NJC, esp when I am in the canteen compound. Felt kinda weird. And the conditions of the canteen washroom a bit... During the orientation, we used to sit on the Western food side of the canteen. But now, I rarely sit that side. Now the places where I choose to zohboh most often: Canteen and sometimes library + comp lab. Canteen is the place we can have big feasts... haha. Visual ones too cos that's the place most people will pass by. =P Feel quite at home now and I also dun mind the washroom that much.

I still got a photostated map of NJC cos I am afraid I might get lost. I took a very long time juz to distinguish between the TA and TB blocks. And I only know how to get to LT1 cos all my lectures are in LT1. Sigh... too 'dineng' you see. And the first time I went to the library, I did not know there are two washrooms juz round the corner outside. I walked all the way to the canteen. Oh man! Of course the comp lab is worse. I walked on every level of the Science block but of course I cannot find cos it's not on that block at all. Duh.

Apart from the new physical environment, I have to live with the pressure from the great deal of homework. I used to think 4 'A' subjects + 2 AO subjects would be easier to handle than 8 'O' subjects. But I am terribly wrong, F.Maths alone can kill. With God's grace, I managed to survive. I also did not really fall ill although I slept for like 4 hours everyday. All those nights I sat there and stared at those FM problems which I could not do. Guess next year-1999 would be much worse. Juz have to hang in there I suppose.

But of course, I made new friends. That's maybe the best part of everything. My first 3 mths in NJ was utopia. Fun, fun and more fun. That kind of togetherness and bond is beyond description. It was really a nice feeling, very hard to write down in words. Although we came from different secondary schools, we managed to blend and came together as the one and only 98S2B. Back then, there was no one taking odd combi. 98S03 = 98S2B. Till now I still reserve using "98S2B" for the ex-class.

My ECA seniors (both CAC and table-tennis recrea) were also very nice. Got to know some of them personally and whoa they are really fantastic. The Yr2s(at least the ones I know of) are very much worth my respect. Very nice lot of people. Heehee.. so I say... NJ is actually a very nice JC with nice people around. Even for some whom I don't know personally, they prove to be much of a motivation for me. Their "on"ess towards activities, things, etc was impressive. I don't deny one of the best things I looked forward to when I went to college everyday was seeing them around. Felt very consoled. Haha.. maybe partly because they were 'piahing' much harder than us then. No offence okay
