Vice President Roberto Bettega asked Sampdoria president Enrico Mantovani
for Vincenzo Montella as soon as the market opens January 4th. Juve offered
35 billion lire plus Nicola Amoruso, but Mantovani refused, saying that he
will only sell Montella in June and for at least 45 billion lire. If
Montella is to arrive, then Juventus will probably sell Filippo Inzaghi.
Manchester United and Barcelona are also after Montella.
Juve is also closely following Ariel Ortega, already considered in
Argentina Diego Armando Maradona's heir, in case Zinedine Zidane leaves.
