THURSDAY
According to Paolo Montero, one of the few Juventus players who stayed in
Turin to train, Christian Vieri-Marcelo Salas is the most dangerous duo in
Serie A. Juve will have two trainings today and Friday, a game against
Fossanese Saturday afternoon, Sunday as a day off, and a training Monday
afternoon.
FRIDAY
Yesterday, Daniel Fonseca didn't train due to a back problem, but he should
train today. Marcelo Zalayeta will also resume training today after a neck
contraction. Today, Juve will receive the medical examinations of
Massimiliano Paci, who was forced to miss training camp due to an infection
to the urinary tract. Tomorrow, Juve will play against Fossanese and
Marcello Lippi will be forced to call up some Primavera players. Alessio
Tacchinardi explained why most Juventus players didn't attend the Italian
Supercup award ceremony: "It wasn't because we were nervous or we lacked
respect, but it's a character trait: we never want to lose. This loss
stings like the Champions League final in Amstedam."
SATURDAY
Zinedine Zidane told France Soir that he will only remain a couple more
years in Turin: he wants to win the Champions League and than he can leave.
Angelo Di Livio says that he is tired of waiting Lazio to make a serious
offer for him. He says that Sven Goran Eriksson would place him on the
right side and make him an alternative to Pavel Nedved. He wants to go back
to Rome, and only Rome, because of family problems. He also says that Juve
helped him in his talks with Lazio, but that he would love to stay in Turin
in case the deal falls through. He might ask for a contract extension to
2002 and a salary improvement. Today, Juve will play Fossanese with the
following lineup: Rampulla; Di Livio, Montero, Tacchinardi, Birindelli;
Blanchard, Davids, Pecchia, Conte; Zalayeta, Fonseca.
