Del Piero said that this was the return he was dreaming of and that he had a lot of fun. Carlo Ancelotti said that now he will have problems choosing among the forwards, considering Del Piero's form. BTW, La Stampa, ever since he has signed the new contract, calls him Little Nabob.
Gianluca Pessotto, Nicola Amoruso, and Igor Tudor were all scratches from yesterday's game due to some last-minute injuries. Pessotto was replaced in the starting lineup by Jonathan Bachini. The forfaits forced Ancelotti to call up Gianluca Zambrotta, even though he was supposed to remain in
Ch�tillon.
Instead of flying in Turin, Juventus was forced to land in Cuneo due to some ploblems at Turin's airport. The players than took a bus to Ch�tillon and arrived very late.
The players that weren't on the field yesterday will train this morning in the gym. The whole roster will probably train on the field in the afternoon.
Tuesday, in the Intertoto final against Rennes, it will mark the return of Zinedine Zidane, 100 days after his last appearance, during Salernitana-Juventus on May 2nd. Yesterday, Zidane worked in the bench together with Juan Eduardo Esnaider and watched the game on TV, cheering for Del Piero's goal.
After selling Thierry Henry to Arsenal and the probable departure of Daniel Fonseca (although Atletico Madrid would prefer Dutchman Hasselbaink), Juventus will resume its interest in Milan Rapaic. Perugia owner Luciano Gaucci is asking for Lit 24 billion [�12.4 million; $13.3 million; �1.5 billion]. Luciano Moggi will meet Gaucci during the week-end and will try to cut down on the price by using players such as Alessandro Birindelli and
Amoruso.
