Didier Deschamps was sold to Chelsea for Lit 9 billion [�4.6 million; $5.4
million]. He will sign a 3-year contract worth Lit 2.2 billion [�1.1
million; $1.3 million] per season. This opens up for Sunday Oliseh's
arrival. Since Roberto Bettega is currently on vacation in Malta (together
with team doctor Riccardo Agricola) and this week is the time dedicated to
the joint ownerships, a decision regarding Oliseh will be made at the end
of the week or possibly next.
Alessandro Del Piero is currently training with Giampiero Ventrone and
former teammate Angelo Peruzzi near Alghero (Sardinia).
Carlo Ancelotti returns today from his vacation in Egypt and will prepare
the list of players that will have to meet in Turin July 1st. This group
will be without all the top players, who were given until July 10th, since
they started their own vacations later due to call ups from their national
teams. The only big names will be Edwin Van der Sar and Darko Kovacevic.
Tomorrow, Luciano Moggi should meet with Perugia owner Luciano Gaucci to
discuss Milan Rapaic. Juve would offer Lit 10 billion [�5.2 million; $6
million] plus either Alessandro Birindelli or Daniel Fonseca.
Yesterday, Moggi met with Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo and GM Pierpaolo
Marino in a Milan hotel to discuss the last details of Jonathan Bachini's
transfer. Udinese asked for Morgan De Sanctis and Igor Tudor, but Ancelotti
vetoed for the latter, meaning that Marco Zamboni, returning from a loan to
Lecce, will head to Udine.
Atalanta and Juventus agreed to let Piergiorgio Regonesi stay one more year
in Bergamo in joint ownership. Since Inter has made an offer for Mark
Iuliano, Juve should be after a defender, but Lorenzo Amoruso is considered
too expensive and there have been too many rumors about Martin Djetou.
Moreover, Gamarra seems headed to Atletico Madrid.
To convince Bari to let go Daniel Andersson, Juve is ready to offer Simone
Perrotta. An unrelated negotiation regards Bari midfielder Sergio Volpi.
Nicola Amoruso will stay with Juve at least for this summer, since he will
be used in the Intertoto. Following this competition, he will be sold. Real
Madrid had made an offer, but Moggi wanted to include Clarence Seedorf in
the negotiations, so the deal was off.
