After failing to get either Christian Vieri or Marcelo Salas from Lazio,
Antonio Giraudo, Luciano Moggi, and Roberto Bettega flew to San Sebastin
to get Darko Kovacevic: although his release clause is set to Ptas 5
billion [Lit 58 billion ; 30 million ; $35 million], Juve will have a
25-35% discount. Kovacevic will play two more games with his current team
to end the season and then will be ready to join Juve.
Moggi also discussed with Lazio owner Sergio Cragnotti midfielder Pavel
Nedved.
Jonathan Bachini has closed his house in Udine and is looking for a new
home in Turin.
Juve, not considering Martin Djetou's arrival, will buy two more defenders:
Paolo Vanoli from Parma and Lorenzo Amoruso [Rangers]. The latter will come
only if Mark Iuliano is sold to Liverpool.
With these transfers, there wouldn't be space for Angelo Di Livio, who is
willing to join his former mentor Giovanni Trapattoni at Fiorentina.
Both Nicola Amoruso and Massimo Perrotta might join Bologna next season.
