Tonight, Edwin Van der Sar and Edgar Davids will play for the Netherlands
in Salvador against Brazil. The two teams will meet in another friendly
Tuesday in Goi�nia.
Morgan De Sanctis didn't play in Italy's 6-2 win over the Under-21 Wales, a
match played in Ferrara.
Pierre Giorgio Regonesi played in the Primavera final between Atalanta and
Empoli. Empoli won its first Primavera title 1-0. The match was played in
Lignano [Udine].
Even though Parma and Real Madrid are interested, it seems that only Inter
and Juventus have a real chance in obtaining Christian Vieri from Lazio.
Sergio Cragnotti and Massimo Moratti will meet Wednesday, when Moratti will
offer Nicola Ventola, Ousmane Dabo, and Gianluca Pagliuca. Meanwhile, last
Thursday night, Luciano Moggi called Cragnotti in S�o Paulo and offered
Filippo Inzaghi plus Lit 30 billion [�15 million; $18 million]. Cragnotti
refused, since it doesn't want both the Inzaghi brothers, and instead asked
for Davids plus Lit 40 billion [�20 million; $24 million]. Moggi refused,
since he wants to keep the Dutchman.
Moggi could have another card up his sleeve, meaning Alessandro Del Piero,
but he insisted in saying that Juve wants to keep Pinturicchio. Moggi had a
phone conversation yesterday morning with Del Piero's agent Claudio
Pasqualin and said that he will wait for Alex's return from vacation June
13th to sign the new contract.
When told that Nicolas Anelka said that he doesn't want to go to Juventus,
Moggi said that he heard a different story. Meanwhile, Arsenal accused Real
Madrid of getting in touch with Anelka without asking the London club
first. FIFA will investigate. Meanwhile, Arsenal is waiting for Juve to
give it both Thierry Henry and Gianluca Pessotto.
It is certain that Martin Djetou will play for Juventus next season.
Meanwhile, Moggi is trying to obtain 21-year old midfielder Ighli Vannucchi
[Salernitana]. Vannucchi is a member of the Italian Under-21 National team.
Moggi also contacted the agent of forward Pedro Munitis [Racing Santander].
Didier Deschamps, who will captain France against Russia in Paris, said
that it is not yet certain that he will leave Juve, since he was offered by
the team to remain one more year.
