Today, Roberto Bettega will fly to Argentina to watch a couple of Boca
Juniors game (against Rosario and Indipendiente) to scout Guillermo Barros
Schelotto and Martin Palermo.
Yesterday, Luciano Moggi met Perugia GM Ermanno Pieroni to discuss Milan
Rapaic and Hidetoshi Nakata. For Rapaic, Juve has offered Lit 10 billion
[5.2 million; $6 million] plus Alessandro Birindelli and Nicola Amoruso.
For the latter, there is an interest by Roma, but only if they sell a
couple of forwards. Juve might be interested in Luigi Di Biagio who hasn't
reached an agreement with Chelsea yet. Di Biagio could be Didier Deschamps'
replacement, even though Flavio Conceiao [Deportivo La Corua] is on top
of the list. Meanwhile, Deschamps has refused to go to Monaco in the Martin
Djetou deal, and would rather go to Athletic Bilbao.
Lorenzo Amoruso [Glasgow Rangers] has asked its team to sell him to Juve,
but Rangers have asked for Lit 15 billion [7.7 million; $9 million] for
him. If the Rangers skipper is bought, Juve will sell Mark Iuliano to
Liverpool for the same sum.
Moggi will meet with Marcelo Salas' agent, Gustavo Mascardi. Mascardi is
also Claudio Lopez's agent. If either player is bought, Juve will forget
about Nicolas Anelka, even though his coach, Arsene Wenger, attended
Juventus-Udinese, probably to discuss later on with Moggi.
