Carlo Ancelotti will close up Juventus' season with a press conference
Thursday afternoon.
Nicolas Anelka told French daily "L'Equipe" that he will never play in
Italy, since they take soccer too seriously. He said that his manager is in
contact with Real Madrid and that's the only team he would move to,
otherwise he will stay with Arsenal.
Although there are rumors about Christian Vieri, it seems more possible
that Juve is interested in another Lazio striker: Marcelo Salas. Salas
doesn't get along with Sven Goran Eriksson and might leave Rome. Lazio is
asking Lit 50 billion [25.8 million; $27 million] and will lower the price
if Alessandro Del Piero is included in the deal.
The future of Del Piero is a key to Juve's transfer strategies. If Alex
stays, Juve will buy two more forwards: one between Darko Kovacevic [Real
Sociedad], Milan Rapaic [Perugia], and Marco Simone [PSG], while the fifth
could be Cristiano Lucarelli [Valencia].
If Del Piero leaves, then there is a rumor that 22-year old Hidetoshi
Nakata [Perugia] will replace him.
Martin Djetou [Monaco], in occasion of Jean-Pierre Papin's farewell game in
Marseille, announce that he will play next season in Juventus together with
his friend Thierry Henry.
With Djetou's arrival, one between Mark Iuliano and Ciro Ferrara will
leave. It looks like Iuliano will join Alessandro Birindelli as part of the
departures.
After giving up on Roberto Carlos [Real Madrid] and Felipe [Vasco da Gama],
Juve has set his sights on 25-year old Mendes Campos Silvinho.
