Ciro Ferrara said that, if Sampdoria were to remain in Serie A, he would
run to Genoa to play there. Ferrara said in yesterday's edition that he
refused an offer from Torino, since he wants to respect Juve fans.
Juventus is ready to offer Lit 50 billion [26 million; $30 million] for
Nicolas Anelka. The money would come from Zinedine Zidane's sell. Arsenal
wants Lit 60 billion [31 million; $36 million] for the French striker, but
it might be willing to lower it.
Zidane's future depends also on Alessandro Del Piero's contract renewal:
it's very unlikely that Carlo Ancelotti will use both players in his future
team.
Juve's acquisition of Roberto Muzzi also depends on whether Zizou goes to
Real Madrid. Real's president Lorenzo Sanz said that, if he can't get
Zidane, he will try to get Cagliari's 25-year old midfielder Fabian
O'Neill. Cagliari president Massimo Cellino said that he will only sell one
between O'Neill and Muzzi. Juve is also interested in another Cagliari
player, Cameroon's 28-year old forward Patrick Mboma. Finally, Juve is,
together with Roma and Lazio, interested in Alessio Scarpi.
Yesterday, Alessandro Del Piero played 15 minutes in a mixed ranks game,
scoring with a lob against Michelangelo Rampulla. Del Piero didn't make any
body contacts or tackels, just passing the ball and slightly running.
Angelo Peruzzi was operated yesterday by Dr. Quaglia and Dr. Rossi at
Fornaca Clinic in Turin. As expected, his knee had to be cleared up.
Peruzzi will rest for a month and resume training with his teammates in the
summer.
