Angelo Peruzzi wasn't called up by Dino Zoff since "Cinghialone" is not 100% fit and he wasn't even sure he could have started against Fioretina. Peruzzi's problem is his left knee which was hit hard in Inter-Juventus in February. Peruzzi's cartilaginous lesion is very difficult to cure and bothersome, and some doctors feel that the only solution would be surgery, which will involve a long stop for rehab.

A player that will have surgery soon is Juan Eduardo Esnaider, who will have his Achilles' heel "cleaned".

Juventus wants to rob Parma of its "jewels": after Dino Baggio, Juve wants to Lilian Thuram and Hernan Crespo. Crespo has already agreed to a transfer to Turin, but this will only happen if one between Alessandro Del Piero and Zinedine Zidane leaves. Moreover, Parma would probably want a player in return (Filippo Inzaghi?). For Thuram, Juve told Parma that they will offer 1 billion lire more than any other offer they receive from Inter, Milan, and Barcelona.

Vasco da Gama, thanks to Nations Bank, has found the money needed to bring Edmundo back from Fiorentina. This means that the Brazilian team is not so desperate to sell Felipe, even though Juve has an option on him. The other solution for left fullback is Roberto Carlos.

Unless Athletic Bilbao offers more money (currently the offer is around Lit 6 billion), Juve might be willing to keep Didier Deschamps.

Meanwhile, Umberto Agnelli said that it's time to stop talking publicly about everyone's contract and that Zidane, Davids, and Del Piero will remain with Juve. Meanwhile, Paolo Montero's agent arrived in Turin and said that he is not there to talk about a contract extension or a salary raise, since his client respects the current contract.

Zidane met with childhood hero Enzo Francescoli after the Fiorentina game.
