After Alessandro Del Piero and Zinedine Zidane, Edgar Davids talks about
his future. Davids, currently the highest paid Juventus player with around
Lit. 4 billion (2.1 million ; $2.4 million), says that, even though his
current contract expires in 2002, he won't remain at Juve or in any team if
he doesn't feel he can give 100%. He says that, since he doesn't have a
family and has lived on his own ever since he was a kid, the decision to
remain or to leave is only up to him and it's not a matter of money, but
just of feeling good about himself. Asked if he too is looking for a place
close to the sea (Barcelona) like Zidane, Davids answered: "The sea is also
in Bari, so it's not important."
Real Madrid's latest offer for Zizou is Roberto Carlos plus Ptas 2.5
billion (Lit 30 billion ; 15 million ; $18 million).
