In order to prepare for (hopefully) next year's Champions League, Juve is
looking to strenghten its current roster. After Fabian O'Neill and the
continuing interest in Hernan Crespo, Juve is after another Parma player,
Lilian Thuram. This would also be a good solution considering that Ciro
Ferrara ain't getting any younger (he will be 34 next season) and that
Paolo Montero's recent behaviours has raised some questions. Montero has
received offers from both Real Madrid and Parma. Other names in the
defensive department are Alessandro Nesta [Lazio] and Sol Campbell
[Tottenham]. Meanwhile, Igor Tudor's contract has been extended to 2004.
In England, in the meantime, Leeds president Peter Risdale has admitted
that Juve has shown interest in 22-year old midfielder Harry Kewell and
19-year old striker Alan Smith.
