Carletto Ancelotti, right after the win against Piacenza, said that he suffered a lot before and during the game, just as he did when he debuted with Reggiana and Parma as coach. He praised Marcello Lippi's work and said that he felt that the players want to re-emerge. His only worries were to the faction of fans that criticizes him and to the resignation of his mentor, Arrigo Sacchi, from Atletico Madrid.

Ancelotti, who is from nearby Reggiolo, had a huge following in Piacenza, including his wife, Luisa. Umberto Agnelli called Ancelotti immediately after the game and congratulated him.

Some of the fans had banners against Ancelotti, Luciano Moggi & Co.:

"La dirigenza dimentica, noi no: grazie Marcello" [Management forgets, we don't: thank you Marcello]

"Moggi pagliaccio" [Moggi clown]

"Un maiale non pu allenare: Ancelotti vattene" [A pig can't coach: Ancelotti go away]

Meanwhile, Lippi watched Piacenza-Juventus on TV in his home in Viareggio, together with his wife Simonetta, his son Davide, and his daughter Stefania.

Postgame comments: Thierry Henry considered sufficient his starting debut, but he wants to improve and give more to the team. For now, the good thing was winning again. Antonio Conte praised the way Ancelotti took his role, by not revolutionizing the team and by trusting the veterans.

Meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi complained about the officiating, claiming that there were two penalties for Piacenza. His coach, Giuseppe Materazzi, instead, said that there's nothing wrong in losing against Juventus, and that Piacenza needs to focus on next week's game against Sampdoria.

A couple of numbers: this was Juve's first away win since September 13th vs. Perugia. This is not a team record, since in 1938/39, Juve didn't win a single time away from Turin and in 1987/88 they did so only once.

Juventus has never lost in Piacenza: 2 wins and 3 ties.

This was Alessandro Birindelli's first Serie A goal. His first goal in Champions League was September 17th, 1997 (vs. Feyenoord) and his first Coppa Italia goal was November 19th, 1997 (vs. Lecce).
