ROME (December 16, 1999 7:51 p.m. EST http://www.sportserver.com) - Juventus beat Napoli 1-0 in the third round of the Italian Cup on Thursday to complete a 4-1 aggregate victory and set up a quarterfinal clash with its main championship rival, Lazio.

Argentine striker Juan Esnaider scored Juventus's goal after 26 minutes of a low key encounter.

Only about 300 fans turned up at the vast Delle Alpi stadium to watch the match on a bitterly cold night in Turin. The first leg in Naples had attracted some 70,000 supporters.

Juve's victory sent the last remaining Serie B side out of the competition and left Carlo Ancelotti's side facing a last eight tie with Lazio, level on points with them at the top of Serie A.

In the other quarterfinals, AC Milan and Inter Milan play each other, AS Roma facse Cagliari and Fiorentina takes on Venezia. All matches are to be played over two legs in January.
