Juventus Hit Back to Beat Olympiakos

ATHENS, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Juventus came from a goal down to hand Olympiakos their first home defeat in European competition in more than five years on Thursday. The Italian Serie A side beat the Greeks 3-1 in their UEFA Cup third-round first-leg match.

Juventus, who were without key midfielder Zinendine Zidane and first choice goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar, suffered an early setback when Stelios Giannakopoulos gave Olympiakos the lead in the 15th minute.

Croat defender Igor Tudor equalised in the 27th minute, heading home a perfect cross from near the the corner flag by Alessandro Del Piero.

The second half quickly turned into a Juventus-dominated period, with the Italians going ahead in the 67th minute when Gianluca Pesssoto produced a brilliant pass for the unmarked Darko Kovasevic to slot home.

Olympiakos attempted a comeback in the last 15 minutes and twice went close before Italy striker Filippo Inzaghi sealed Juventus's victory in the 89th minute when he scored from a cross by Alessio Tacchinardi.
