Juve Overcome Milan to Join Lazio On Top of Serie A Table

11/21/1999. Juventus joined leaders Lazio at the top of the Serie A table as they defeated Milan 3-1 in the Delle Alpi Stadium of Turin on Sunday night. The final result was more of a reward to Juventus than a punishment to AC Milan, because Zaccheroni's team did not play a bad game, they where just overtaken by a superior Juventus side.

After 22 minutes of a very fast paced first half AC Milan took the lead on a Luigi Sala header which was deflected by Zinedine Zidane. Juve, who had previously hit the post off a Ciro Ferrara header sixty seconds before, responded in the best way possible by scoring three minutes later with their captain Antonio Conte.

In the second half, Juventus began to dominate the visiting side, led by Alex Del Piero who seemed the world class player of a couple seasons ago. Filippo Inzaghi gave his team the lead in the 50th minute with a precise diagonal shot aimed at the corner of the far post, and his replacement Darko Kovacevic sealed the game off in the final minutes of the game with a well struck header.

Next Sunday Juventus will go to Rome to fight for the solitary lead of the table against Lazio.
