Davids Agrees Contract Extension with Juventus

Juventus have agreed a new contract with their Dutch
midfielder Edgar Davids that should see him remain
with the Turin club until 2004.
Davids is recovering from an eye operation three weeks
ago to cure a glaucoma condition but is expected to
return to full fitness by the end of November. He has
already been doing some light training but has yet to
join the full squad to train.
The player was linked in the spring with moves to
either Manchester United or Real Madrid but has been
happy to agree a contract extension with Juve after
joining the club last year from AC Milan. The player
is a former European Cup winner with Ajax and a
regular in the Dutch national side. His new contract
agreement with the Italian side is a three year
extension on the deal he signed when he transferred
from Milan.
