Juventus are prepared to break the world record for a defender and pay Tottenham 15million for Sol Campbell in order to end their defensive crisis.
Campbell has been on the Turin club's shopping list for some months and coach Carlo Ancellotti is keen to start negotiations when the 20m-rated England
international returns to full fitness.
Juventus-s 2-0 defeat against Lecce on Saturday has increased the alarm bells about a defence which has looked less-than impregnable, despite the teams strong start to this season.
Spurs captain Campbell has already made it clear that he does not want to discuss a new contract until next summer, when he will be only six months away
from being able to negotiate a freedom of contract move.
