ROME, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Juventus are poised to snap up
Irish international Roy Keane if he decides to leave Manchester
United, Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper reported on Friday.
The paper quoted Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi as
saying he had spoken to Keane's lawyer Michael Kennedy about a possible transfer either now or next June, when the player's contract at Old Trafford expires.
"Juventus have the right to know how things stand -- to deny
our rivals an advantage in the transfer market as much as
anything else," Moggi said. "That's why I spoke to Kennedy."
"But I got the impression Keane would renew his contract at
Manchester United and that's the end of the story as far as I'm
concerned."
Keane is locked in contract talks with United and will reportedly decide in the next few days whether to sign a new five-year deal.
He has been linked to Inter Milan as well as Juventus.
