TURIN, Italy (August 2, 1999 2:53 p.m. EDT http://www.sportserver.com) - French striker Thierry Henry is heading for English premier league side Arsenal, Juventus director general Luciano Moggi said on Monday.
"Henry will go to Arsenal," he told reporters when asked to comment on a reported cooling of talks between the two clubs.
"There are not all these differences between bid and offer," he
added.
Italian newspapers have reported that Juventus were in talks to sell Henry to the English premier league runners-up for 30 billion lire ($16.52 million).
Juventus, who bought Henry from Monaco six months ago for 20 billion lire, had originally started negotiations to sell the player to Arsenal as part of their aborted attempts to sign fellow Frenchman Nicolas Anelka.
Anelka rejected a move to Turin and is now headed to Real Madrid. The Spanish club in turn have sold Croatian striker Davor Suker, top scorer at the 1998 World Cup, to Arsenal.
