Juventus Close to Signing Djetou

MILAN (July 6, 1999 2:16 p.m. EDT http://www.sportserver.com) - Italian giant Juventus is closing in on Monaco's French defender, Martin Djetou, in a $10 million deal, the Italian press reported on Tuesday.
Djetou has agreed in principle to move to Turin, where he would join up with fellow countrymen Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane, and earn 1.35 million dollars a year in a five-year contract, Tuttosport said.
Juventus' offer is about 1.5 million dollars short of the asking price.
However, a player swap or free loan could enter into the deal - the Principality club reportedly being interested in borrowing Juventus' young Uruguayan striker Marcelo Zalayeta.
The Italians are now waiting for an answer from Monaco president Jean-Louis Campora.
