ROME (Dec 6, 1998 - 12:33 EST) - Substitute Michael Silvestre scored an injury-time equalizer to spare Inter Milan's new manager Mircea Luccescu from a disastrous start at Vicenza, but Juventus slipped to their second successive Italian league defeat at home to Lazio on Sunday.
Once Pasquale Luiso had converted a 20th minute penalty, Inter looked like losing their heads and the match as, first, Nigerian Taribo West angrily threw his shirt to the ground after being replaced Silvestre, and then Chilean Ivan Zamorano was sent-off for kicking Massimo Beghetto.
But, with Vicenza also down to 10-men after a red card was shown to Nicola Diliso, Brazilian Ronaldo came off the bench to cross for French defender Silvestre to grab his last ditch goal.
Chile's Marcelo Salas, who scored Lazio's Italian Supercup winner over Juve in Turin last August, returned to haunt the champions with a goal nine minutes from time at the Delle Alpi.
Crisis-hit Juventus are without a win in their last five games -- their worst run under coach Marcello Lippi.
The Turin side remain fifth, but are six points adrift of leaders Fiorentina, who defeated Bologna 1-0 in a match played on Saturday.
German Oliver Bierhoff brought his eight-match scoring drought to a halt with a goal in AC Milan's 3-0 home win over Udinese -- a victory which keeps his side fourth on 21 points, one behind AS Roma and Parma.
