Juve's Del Piero to Have Knee Surgery in U.S.

TURIN, Italy (Nov 20, 1998 - 13:09 EST) - Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero will fly to the United States Saturday for an operation on his left knee, his club announced Friday.
The surgery on the 24-year-old Italian international is being carried out by a specialist at the Hawkins Clinic in Denver, Colorado which has already conducted operations on two other Italian players, Maurizio Ganz (AC Milan) and Nicola Berti (Inter Milan).
Del Piero, injured when colliding with a Udinese defender a fortnight ago, will be out for six months.
