ROME (Nov 8, 1998 - 12:33 EST) - Argentine Roberto Carlos Sosa scored an injury time equalizer and Udinese recovered from a two-goals deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with Juventus on Sunday and put Fiorentina back on top of Serie A.

Zinedine Zidane and Filippo Inzaghi had given Juve a two-goal lead in the first 46 minutes but Jonathan Bachini put Udinese back in the match with a 65th-minute effort before substitute Sosa salvaged a point in the dying seconds.

Fiorentina took full advantage of the Juventus result with a 4-1 home win over Venezia that included two goals from prolific Argentine striker Gabriel Batistuta.

The Florence side, who had relinquished the first division leadership to Juventus last week, are back on top with 18 points from eight matches, one ahead of the reigning champions and four ahead of AS Roma, held 1-1 at Bologna.

Paolo Negro, playing only his second game of the season, scored twice in five minutes as Lazio recovered from their first defeat of the season last week to thrash Empoli 4-1 at the Olympic stadium.

The Rome club joins a group of three teams tied for fourth place with 13 points, which includes Parma and AC Milan. Parma conceded a late goal in a 1-1 draw at Bari and AC Milan meets city neighbor Inter later.
