Fascinating facts :
Giuseppe Bergomi will equal a serie A record if, as expected, he makes his 501st league appearance in Turin on Sunday. The current record is held by AC Milan's Gianni Rivera.
Alessandro Del Piero's goal against Vicenza last Sunday was his first in serie A since scoring the winner in last season's Juventus-Inter match on April 26.
Juventus and Inter are the only two serie A clubs never to have been relegated since the championship started in 1929-30.
In the 1960s, the two clubs' domination of Italian soccer was such that Juventus claimed four titles and Inter another three -- losing a fourth in a play-off with Bologna.
From 1964-69, the two clubs' managers shared the same surname -- Herrera (Helenio at Inter and Heriberto at Juventus).
For 27 consecutive seasons, in a period stretching from 1964-65 to 1991-92, Inter failed to win a single match against Juventus in Turin.
Inter have not scored in Turin since their last away victory against Juventus on March 21, 1993. Igor Shalimov and Ruben Sosa were on target in a 2-0 win. Inter have suffered 520 goalless minutes at the Delle Alpi since.
Former Juventus striker Omar Sivori of Argentina is the all-time top scorer in Juventus-Inter fixtures with 12 goals (7 in Turin).
In Juventus's 9-1 win over Inter in Turin in 1961, Sivori scored six goals -- an all-time record for a single serie A match which Sivori shares with Lazio striker Sandro Piola.
Juventus and Inter have met nine times in Turin in the month of October with the home side winning five and losing once.
