Fenerbahce Closer to Signing Dimas From Juventus

ISTANBUL (Sep 22, 1998 - 14:31 EDT) - Fenerbahce said on Tuesday they were close to signing Portuguese international defender Manuel Dimas from Italian champions Juventus.
"I am sure this transfer will be finalised (on Wednesday)," Anatolian news agency quoted the Turkish club's director of football, Ali Yildirim, as saying.
No one was immediately available at the club to confirm the report.
Yildirim gave no indication of the size of the deal for Dimas, a left back who has failed to carve out a regular first team place at Juventus.
Fenerbahce recently sold Nigerian international Jay Jay Okocha to Paris Saint Germain for $17 million and coach Joachim Low has been keen to build up his squad for a UEFA Cup campaign.
Fenerbahce started that competition with a 1-0 first leg defeat of Parma in Istanbul.
