Juventus Likely to Break Season Ticket Sales Record

TURIN, Italy (Aug 20, 1998 - 10:42 EDT) - Italian champions Juventus said on Thursday they had sold 40,000 season tickets for the coming season and were on target to break their club record.
The record, set last season, stands at 40,338.
Juventus, 25 times Italian champions, are traditionally Italy's best-supported club with fans and social clubs throughout the country.
But many of their fans support them from a distance. Last season their average home gate was smaller than that of AC Milan, Inter Milan and AS Roma.
The club's enormous 60,000-capacity Delle Alpi stadium is seldom full and they plan to move to a smaller stadium on the site of their former Comunale stadium at the end of the coming league season, which begins on September 13.
