PARIS (Jul 21, 1998 - 11:28 EDT) - Juventus will be sponsored next season by Telepiu, the Italian subsidiary of French pay TV group Canal Plus.
Juventus players, including French World Cup players Zinedine Zidane and Didier Deschamps, will wear the logo of Telepiu's D+ digital television arm for the Italian championship, Canal Plus said in a statement on Tuesday.
For European matches they will wear the Telepiu logo.
Telepiu bought broadcasting rights to Italian Serie A and B matches from the Italian league for three seasons from 1996/97, a Canal Plus spokeswoman told Reuters.
Canal Plus, which has controlling stakes in Paris St Germain (PSG) and Servette, already sponsors leading teams in other European countries.
