Trezeguet Link Is Pure Fantasy, Says Wenger

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has ridiculed claims by David Trezeguet's agent that the France striker was ever set for a 50 million move to Highbury in the summer.
Trezeguet's agent, Antonio Caliendo, was quoted on Sunday as saying that the player was "very excited" about the prospect of a move to Highbury.
He reportedly told the News of the World: "My meeting and discussion with Arsene Wenger went very well. We're happy with Arsenal's offer, now it's up to both clubs to conclude the deal."
However, Wenger, who already has five strikers on his books - Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Nwankwo Kanu, Sylvain Wiltord and Francis Jeffers - said on Monday that the story was 'complete fantasy'.
Can you imagine me spending 50 million on one player? If that's all agreed then it's fantastic as my chairman must have won the lottery.
In fact, why don't we pay 70million as we already have five strikers, he added.
Trezeguet, meanwhile, has insisted that he has no desire to leave Juventus, who have just gone top of Serie A.
"In my opinion, I would like to stay at Juve, I feel great," he told Italian television programme Controcampo.
Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi added that the Turin club has no intention of selling Trezeguet. "Trezeguet is not for sale and will stay in Turin," he said.
Trezeguet also added that Henry, who moved to Arsenal after a miserable spell at Juventus, might have moved to Turin too early.
"Maybe Henry feels better in England than here because he is a player that plays better in the bigger spaces," said Trezeguet.
"He arrived in Turin too young and at too delicate a stage in his development.
