Ferrara Wants To Stay At Juventus
ROME (Reuters) - Veteran Juventus defender Ciro Ferrara wants to see out his playing career with the Turin club.
The former Italy defender has been out with injury for much of last season and the start of this, but his return to the side has coincided with an upturn in the club's fortunes, capped by his goal against Chievo on Sunday night.
"I've been in discussions with the club and we want the same thing," Ferrara told Friday's Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"Another year on the pitch, together and then we'll see.
"The fact that the team have rediscovered their form is a great stimulus to me but I'm just very grateful to Juve for the faith they had in me."
Ferrara, 35, is tipped to remain at the club when his playing days are over, but for now he is concentrating on helping them to more success.
"You can see the results we've been getting recently and I'm very happy to have contributed," he said.
"We are now able to be contenders at the end of the season."
Third-placed Juventus are at home to Lecce on Sunday.
