Lippi Predicts Fine Future For Zenoni

ROME (Reuters) - Juventus coach Marcello Lippi has predicted a fine future for Cristian Zenoni after an impressive performance by the defender against AC Milan in the Italian Cup on Wednesday.

The Italy defender's powerful run past Denmark defender Thomas Helveg presented Alessandro Del Piero with the chance to put Juventus ahead in their semifinal first leg. Juventus won 2-1.

"The winning goal arrived thanks to a good finish by Del Piero but the praise should go to Zenoni for a great run," Lippi told the Corriere Dello Sport.

"I believe in this boy and I speak to him almost every day. I tell him that he must not get upset if sometimes he doesn't play, he must remain calm.

"He has arrived at Juve and will stay for a long time. This will be his house for seven or eight years. In certain cases including this game against Milan, he showed that he's a great player."

Zenoni, 25, who has one Italy cap, joined Juventus in the off-season as part of a deal that took Filippo Inzaghi to AC Milan, having just signed for the club from Atalanta.
