Lippi Pleased With His Side's Awe-Inspiring Win
TORINO, January 21 (DS) - Juventus boss Marcello Lippi, happy with his side's 3-0 win over Atalanta, praised Trezeguet who scored the two decisive goals, stated the club's official site.
"What matters are not his goals, but the fact that he participates in the team's plays more and more. He's becoming more of an all-around player as time goes by. He's a champion, and being still young, he has room for improvement."
Juventus boss also revealed his thoughts about the showdown. "Before the game I was very nervous. We were facing the same team for the third time in ten days and I thought my team could have relaxed a little. But I think that Thursday's defeat was a positive warning."
Lippi shared opinions about Pavel Nedved, who was the MVP of the game for the fourth time in the last six games.
"Pavel keeps on improving. Today he played the first 20 minutes behind the two forwards then he returned to his position on the left-wing. At first I needed to get the goals and after to be more careful."
David Trezeguet also commented on his team-mate's performance.
"I like playing with him. His role is now very similar to Zidane's. He is free to decide where he wants to play. He is key for both Del Piero and myself."
Meanwhile, Edgar Davids who was not included in the line-up, substituted Tacchinardi with less than 15 minutes left to play.
"Now that I can count on all my mid-fielders I can rotate them. Edgar had played 90 minutes last Thursday and today I allowed him to rest. Just as I had Tacchinardi and Zambrotta take a game off earlier. Same will happen to Conte on Thursday," revealed Lippi about his decision.
