Lippi: Juve Are A Mature Team
TURIN, January 20 (DS) - Juventus coach Marcello Lippi is in raptures over his side's current Italian championship run.
"We're already a mature team. We possess the necessary strength and self-confidence. We insure the necessary safety in defence, possess the balance in the midfield and have an aggressive front line. Thus it will be shameful for us to continue making mistakes. Of course, we respect and admire the current Italian championship leaders. We'll meet Roma soon and we should concentrate on this clash and try to secure the best possible point difference," claimed the manager.
Speaking on Juventus' rivals in the forthcoming tie Lippi said: "We've won the first leg of Italian Cup play-off against Atalanta, but we lost the second leg. It's tough to play against the same team during such a short period of time both on the psychological and technical level. We must be strong, confident, concentrated and keep up our performance level all through the match. We must claim the victory lest the gap between us and the leaders grows wider."
Meanwhile Paolo Montero returned from an injury absence. The Uruguayan defender won't start against Atalanta, but will sit on the bench next to Juve coach Lippi, who scheduled his provisional return for Juve's Wednesday Italian Cup clash against AC Milan.
