Juventus Turned Down D'Alessandro Deal
BUENOS AIRES, January 4 (DS) - Juventus FC were recently ready to sign River Plate midfielder Andres D'Alessandro for 26.5 million dollars, but now Italians seem to have lost their interest in the player, according to reports. It was believed that the deal would be concluded within several days, when Juventus sporting manager Luciano Moggi arrives in Buenos Aires for negotiations. Yesterday, speaking to Italian radio Rai Uno, Moggi said: " D'Alessandro is a good player, but he is too young and thin. If he wants to join Juventus, he must work more on his physical form. " The fact that D'Alessandro was named one of the best among the Argentinean young players seemed to have secured his Europe exit. Moggi added that the player was recommended to La Vecchia Signora by their former player Omar Sivori, who currently works in Juventus, looking for new talents in Latin America.
On the other hand, River Plate were not too eager to sell their midfielder before the summer, but money crisis in the club forced them to take this step. Manchester United and Internazionale are also believed to be among the chasers to land the Argentinean player.
