Giraudo Satisfied With Juventus And Italian Football
MILAN, December 28 (DS) - Marcelo Lippi, Franco Carraro, Italian championship and Champions League - all "look at" the year of 2002 and Juventus FC executive director Giuseppe Giraudo, who is completely optimistic.
"I think Carraro is the best chairman who could be desired by the Italian Football Federation. He is also a member of the National Olympic Committee of Italy. That's why I think that we need him very much," Giraudo said.
"Despite the radical changes, we finally managed to reach the Champions League second group stage after two-year failure. We don't occupy a bad place in the table of the Italian championship and Italian Cup. I think Juventus and Cheivo will fight for Scudetto," the executive director added.
Giraudo also touched upon the postponement of some matches due to the unfavorable climate: "Players and coaches are right when they complain that it is risky to play on an ice-covered field. But I don't agree when they complain to hold matches on sooner dates. It is impossible because a lot of problems could be linked to it," Giraudo concluded.
