Juventus Eager To Acquire Carles Puyol
TURIN, December 16 (DS) - Juventus FC are keen to acquire FC Barcelona defender Carles Puyol, Diariosport reported.
Italian club head coach Marcelo Lippi intends to strengthen the right wing of the defence line of his side and thinks that Puyol is a good candidate for that position.
The delegation of the Turin club is likely to visit to Barcelona in the nearest future to start negotiations to acquire the defender. But they are unlikely to achieve success because Barcelona chairman Joan Gaspart and general director Anton Parera have announced that they are not going to sell anyone from the line-up. Despite these announcements, Juventus hope to acquire Puyol until the start of the next season.
As a matter of fact, Croatian legionary Igor Tudor plays on the position of the left defender at Juventus. Tudor has played in the Italian club for four seasons. Despite Tudor is included in the line-up, Lippi wants to see on that position a stronger defender.
The results of the negotiations between the Italian and Spanish clubs are likely to be revealed in a few days or weeks.
