After Zidane's Departure Juventus Keen To Acquire Helguera
MADRID, December 7 (DS) - Juventus FC sold their indispensable player Zinedine Zidane for a big sum. But now the club board seem to regret for losing Zidane, and they decided to find someone to replace Zidane.
And they think that the most probable candidate for Zidane's replacement is Real half-back Ivan Helguera, Diario AS reports. But as a matter of fact, Helguera forms a good tandem with Zidane in Real, who are unlikely to let their half-back go.
This information was disseminated after Helguera's agent Juanjo Helguera and Royal Club general director Jorge Valdano met yesterday. But it was found out that Real are reluctant to sell their player, and Helguera himself doesn't burn with the desire to leave his side.
The Italian club's desire to acquire Helguera is not new. During the negotiations with Real for sale of Zidane, Juventus were interested in the opportunities to sign Helguera.
Besides Juventus, English club Chelsea FC have offered for the half-back 4.2 billion pesetas (about 21 million dollars), but Royal Club have refused them categorically.
