Juventus Willing To Buy Leverkusen Lucio
TURIN, November 25 (DS) - Italian Serie A side Juventus offered Bayer Leverkusen 60 millions marks for Brazilian international Lucio.
Juventus sports director Luciano Moggi offered the deal to Bayer general manager Reiner Calmund, Italian daily Tuttosport reported.
Interestingly, Juve's Champions League Group D rivals are the German championship leaders.
Meanwhile Juve aren't the sole suitors eyeing the Brazilian international. According to the Italian mass media, fellow Italian sides Milan AC and Roma AS also are eager to sign the Bayer defender.
"I feel great at Bayer," claimed the Brazilian. "At the same time, I'm really interested in the Italian sides' offers. I'll do my best to persuade Bayer chiefs to let me move to Italy."
Meanwhile Bayern coach Klaus Toppmoller dismissed pointblank the information of Lucio's possible transfer at the end of this season, reported Sport 1.
"It's but an empty talk", said the Bayern manager. "Lucio told me that he feels good here. Juventus is trying to cause discontentment among the players ahead of our Champions League tie."
