Juventus Determined To Sign Rivaldo
TURIN, November 15 (DS) - Juventus FC have always been interested in Brazil national team and Barcelona FC midfielder Rivaldo. It seems that now La Signora Vecchia are ready to make their dream come true. The Turin side are going to offer 8.5 million pesetas (42.5 million dollars) for the Brazilian star, Diariosport reported. Several other teams, such as AS Roma, Parma AC, S.S. Lazio, Milan AC and Manchester United FC are also pursuing the player.
Alejandro Mancuso, who is close to Rivaldo, traveled yesterday to Italy where he will meet with Juventus officials. The purpose of this trip hasn't been officially announced, but it is obvious that the sides involved will discuss the possible transfer. This is further confirmed by the fact that Paco Cazal, who is closely connected with Juventus, will be present at the upcoming meeting.
Juventus vice-president Roberto Bettega and managing director Luciano Moggi are to represent the Italian side. Juventus management insists that the details of the meeting be kept in secret, at least until the end of this year.
Despite the fact the Catalan club has several times declared that Rivaldo is not for sale, Juve are determined to reach their aim. Rivaldo will receive 10 million of the above-mentioned 42.5 million dollars, if the move takes place prior to the expiration of his contract.
